En un principio las respuestas que nos interesaban estaban basadas en resistencia,pero este criterio ha evolucionado y actualmente nos interesan las que se encuentranbasadas en desplazamientos, pues se ha llegado a la conclusión que son estos, losdesplazamientos, los que dañan a las estructuras. En nuestro medio contamos con una amplia lista de programas que realizan un Análisis no lineal, así tenemos entre ellos al PERFORM 3D, RUAUMOKO 2D, IDARC 2D, DRAIN-2DXy NILDYN. Según recomendaciones a partir de comparaciones de estos programas, se recomienda el uso del programa IDARC 2D y el RUAUMOKO 2D por ser más completos. El IDARC 2D un software realizado en el lenguaje FORTRAN y que por poseer un entorno de trabajo poco interactivo donde el ingreso y salida de datos se proporciona en un archivo ".txt", entonces se tiene la necesidad de realizar una Interface Gráfica en el programa Visual Basic Applications del MS Ex ce l. Este programa será nombrado en adelante "Interface Gráfica del Programa IDARC V6.1", que se convierte en un medio bastante interactivo y amigable para el usuario del IDARC V6.1, ya que ahora podremos manipular el ingreso y salida de datos en un entorno de Excel, pudiendo realizar fácilmente operaciones en cuadros y gráficas rápidamente.
