Resumen
The present study has the general objective of identifying the different stages that involved the document safeguarding process. Specifically, the process of constituting the Vianna Moog archive in the Collection of the Jesuit Memorial, located in the Central Library of the Unisinos University. The specific objectives are to describe the process of safeguarding Vianna Moog's personal archive from its acquisition to hygiene, conservation and availability for consultation in the institutional space of a Jesuit university. Analyze the personal archive of the writer Vianna Moog and its potential as a historical document and for discussions related to the History of Education. The methodological support was Oral History and historical documentary analysis. According to the assumptions of cultural history and the History of Written Culture, I understood that personal archives are historical sources of fundamental importance for the provision of subsidies and for problematizing the subjects' times and spaces and their ways of insertion in society. Thus, the archival work developed in the personal documents must be guided by the genesis of cultural artifacts. As well as the custody of personal documentary heritage must be preceded by the interest of making it available for research, as well as access to researchers must be facilitated and better understood.
