More than a passing style of gestation, innovation is taken as a requirement for the existence of organizations in a globalized world. Literature on innovation and innovative organizations presents a big diversity of theoretical models. Analyzing the organizational practices that have to do with innovation and the processes by which these practices institutionalize themselves in innovative organizations was the general goal of this article. To put this work into practice, a qualitative research methodology was applied, and the study of multiple cases was used as a research strategy. Two organizations were analyzed, and some interviews were taken as instruments for collecting data. Theses interviews were considered the main source of information for the analysis of the cases and documentation, as, for instance, reports, websites, folders and newspaper and magazine articles.
