Resumen
The main activities carried out by the Institute in Trinidad and Tobago during 2021 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening digital technologies, ecology, sustainability, digital commerce, food safety and sanitation, climate-smart agriculture, and soil and water management. Likewise, work was done on importing apples and pears from Argentina; as well as support for small and medium-sized enterprises. Finally, vetiver grass cultivation is used as a green engineering solution; as well as pest control and the development of the "FarmVue" application for production registration. Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Trinidad y Tobago durante el 2021, con respecto a las necesidades e interés del país, fortaleciendo tecnologías digitales, ecología, sostenibilidad, comercio digital, inocuidad y sanidad alimentaria, agricultura climáticamente inteligente y el manejo de suelos y agua. Asimismo, se trabajo en la importación de manzanas y peras desde Argentina; así como el apoyo a las pequeñas y medianas empresas. Finalmente, se emplea el cultivo de pasto vetiver, como una solución de ingeniería verde; así como el control de plagas y el desarrollo de aplicación “FarmVue”, para el registro de la producción.
