Guyana. Significant achievements 2010-2017

Abstract

The main activities carried out by the Institute in Guyana are identified, during the period from 2010 to 2017, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening issues such as good agricultural practices, exports, trade, beekeeping, hydroponics, employment of greenhouses, innovation, resilience against climate change, pest control, such as the fruit fly. Likewise, work was done on risk management, through risk maps, on water collection and on the effective management of this resource. Finally, training was provided to women to achieve their inclusion in agriculture.

Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Guyana, durante el período comprendido desde el año 2010 al 2017, con respecto a las necesidades e intereses del país, fortaleciendo en temas como buenas prácticas agrícolas, exportaciones, comercio, apicultura, hidroponía, empleo de invernaderos, innovación, resiliencia contra el cambio climático, control de plagas, como la mosca de la fruta. Asimismo, se trabajó en la gestión de riesgos, por medio de mapas de riesgos, en la recolección de agua y en la gestión efectiva de este recurso. Finalmente, se brindaron capacitaciones a mujeres para lograr su inclusión en la agricultura.
