The label manufacturing company has a UV inks laboratory to create Pantone, in which an
analysis of the formulation process will be carried out, during the inventories made in the
laboratory warehouses in the year 2021, it was identified that there is a high cost to maintain
inventory of remaining inks; there is also lack of control, documentation, standardization of
work and staff training, where it is proposed to develop an improvement through lean
manufacturing tools, logistic and use of software, in order to reduce inventory costs in the
area. The feasibility of the proposed solution raised in the study analysis for the economic
impact of the problem was determined from the cost/benefit ratio, that for every dollar
invested in the company, $0.81 is obtained as profit. The result of the NPV value is
$186,694.40, which estimates the gross profits of the company, and an IRR of 27.4%,
determining the profitability of the project.
