Hepatotoxicity can produce liver lesions, these can be caused by the improper use of drugs or other chemical agents, so it is considered an important reason for liver damage, therefore, it is proposed to interrupt the exposure to such causal agent to avoid worsening of liver lesions. The objective of this research is to carry out a comparative bibliographic study of the hepatoprotective activity of the plants Cynara scolymus (Artichoke) and Taraxacum officinale (Dandelion) in biomodels, thus identifying the presence of the greatest hepatoprotective effect. The methodology used was systematic bibliographic research, where a process of information compilation was carried out in academic bibliographic managers such as: Pubmed, Scielo, Science Direct, Elsevier and academic Google. Three articles were selected for each plant, using the methodological techniques employed in them, which were used to carry out the comparative analysis between Cynara scolymus and Taraxacum officinale. As a result, the statistical values obtained from the biochemical markers (ALP, AST, and ALT) were used and a comparison of these was made by means of restoration percentages against hepatotoxic biomodels, making use of the selected articles. It was concluded that the plant with the highest hepatoprotective activity is Cynara scolymus, which is a promising and important natural therapeutic candidate for the prevention and treatment of hepatopathies caused by hepatotoxins.
