ADRs are the result of the interaction that exists between the inherent characteristics of the patient and the drug administered, requiring their notification under the use of pharmacovigilance. The objective of the present study was to apply the Pharmacovigilance system and reports of adverse drug reactions at Hospital Básico Ancón. The methodology integrated a mixed approach, observational and longitudinal modality of a non-experimental type; A survey was used which was applied to a sample of 109 professionals. On the other hand, a database review about the SDMDU and the RAM report was managed. The results showed the possession of a good level of knowledge in 50.5% of the collaborators about pharmacovigilance and ADR reporting; this situation was largely contributed by adequate knowledge of notification cases (78%), differences between notification cards (67.9%) and the people who can notify (68.8%). With respect to the SDMDU, this system has made it possible to manage economic savings thanks to the expenses avoided due to pharmaceutical intervention and the costs of re-admitted drugs. Regarding ADRs, the hospital has only reported a single adverse event corresponding to a 35-year-old patient, whose identified side effect was the Rash generated by Ciprofloxacin, which was generated by the rapid administration of the drug. In conclusion, there is a need to manage an educational intervention that promotes the knowledge and practice of VF, and the reporting of ADRs.
