Abstract

Las Lesiones Pigmentadas de la Mucosa Oral son un problema principalmente estético que se puede presentar por múltiples factores que son importante identificar para poder hacer un buen diagnóstico y tratamiento, el propósito de este trabajo de investigación es iidentificar las causas y plantear el tratamiento de la hiperpigmentación gingival. se realiza una revisión bibliográfica de artículos científicos actualizados, sobre hiperpigmentación gingival en Google académico, scielo, Redalyc, medigraphic, se realizó resumen y selección de literatura. Se revisaron cincuenta artículos de los cuales fueron seleccionados treinta, en los que los autores describen la hiperpigmentación como una patología de carácter estético y multifactorial y que si tiene tratamiento lo que nos lleva a concluir que La literatura indica que la hiperpigmentación es una patología que es causada por factores endógenos y exógenos, describe también la literatura que la hiperpigmentación es más frecuente que aparezca en personas de raza negra y en chinos, debido a su acelerada producción de melanina, también se da en personas que padecen enfermedades sistémicas, en fumadores y también describe que la hiperpigmentación es producida por metales utilizados en restauraciones dentales como lo es la amalgama, los planes de tratamientos sugeridos son de varios tipos entre los cuales mencionamos los que son de tipo quirúrgicos, químicos y de laser siendo la criocirugía el tratamiento más efectivo y el que registra menor riesgo de recidiva

Fifty articles were reviewed of which thirty were selected, in which the authors describe hyperpigmentation as an aesthetic and multifactorial pathology and that if it has treatment, which leads us to conclude that the literature indicates that hyperpigmentation is a pathology that is caused by endogenous and exogenous factors, The literature also describes that hyperpigmentation is more frequent to appear in black people and in Chinese, due to its accelerated production of melanin, it also occurs in people suffering from systemic diseases, in smokers and also describes that hyperpigmentation is produced by metals used in dental restorations such as amalgam, the suggested treatment plans are of several types, among which we mention those that are surgical, chemical and laser, cryosurgery being the most effective treatment and the one with the lowest risk of recurrence
