This degree work includes the design and comparative analysis of a reinforced concrete wall and a gravity wall, which were analyzed according to requests and demands of the project according to current regulations such as NEC-15 and ACI 318 -14. By means of a total station, the topographic survey of the place was carried out and with the help of the AUTOCAD and CIVIL 3D software, it could get by a topography of the land and sections with abscissas every ten meters were obtained to ascertain which is the most unfavorable section, defining the section to work and the parameters of the soil of the place such as specific weight, cohesion and friction angle, the pre-dimensioning of the retaining walls was carried out and subsequent verification of stability to overturning, sliding and global stability of the system for normal and seismic conditions, load capacity, The design of the reinforced concrete both in flexion and shear, the same as with the help of the GEO5 and CYPECAD software, the calculated results were verified. For the cantilever wall, each part that comprises the structure such as the screen, toe slab, heel slab and the steam were analyzed with the respective states to be able to carry out the stability analysis mentioned above. For the gravity wall, the analysis of sliding stability, overturning, load capacity and global stability was carried out because its operation depends on its own weight and does not require a reinforcement. Finally, a referential budget for the two types of walls is detailed with the corresponding analyzes to allow determining which is the ideal structure for the study of the area.
