Gracias a esto se pudo crear conclusiones y recomendaciones del uso de este examen imagenológico en la toma de decisiones de pacientes neurocríticos This degree work, USE OF TRANSCRANIAL ECOGRAPHY AS A PREDICTIVE VALUE OF ENCEPHAL DEATH IN NEUROCRTICAL PATIENTS, is oriented to the analysis of the management of patients with Cranioencephalic Trauma who were treated in the intensive care unit of the Hospital de Especialidades Guayaquil Dr Abel Gilbert Pontón. A descriptive, cross-sectional, analytical and retrospective work was carried out, using the collection of information from a sample of 103 patients during the period of time from January 2019 to January 2020 who required admission to the ICU. The objective of this thesis work is to determine the efficacy of transcranial ultrasound in order to determine the progression or non-development of brain death in patients with this level of therapeutic complexity. From the aforementioned sample value, parameters such as the characterization of the patient, the etiology and classification of the trauma, as well as the findings found by the ultrasound examination, were assessed, determining relationships between these and the patient's evolution. Thanks to this, it was possible to create conclusions and recommendations for the use of this imaging test in decision-making in neurocritical patients
