A nivel metodológico
neuropediatras, foniatras, terapeutas ocupacionales, fisioterapeutas y educadores
especiales.
Autism spectrum disorder is characterized by the lack of social interaction and
communication, as well as the presence of restrictive and repetitive behavior patterns.
In the intervention of the dentist, the few interactions at the level of the oral language of
the patient can limit and even hinder professional work. Thus, the objective of this
study is for dentists to learn about the adaptation techniques used in consultation with
ASD patients. At the methodological level, its methods and techniques used are
analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, qualitative, exploratory and bibliographic
research. The clinical manifestations to be considered in these patients are the absence
of social interaction, problems when expressing their emotions, the lack of
understanding of double language, and when speaking to them their gaze is focused on
other objects, this does not mean lack of attention. Among the conclusions, the
behavioral management techniques such as: voice control, reinforcement and
pictograms stand out. The work with these patients is interdisciplinary, there are many
authors who recommend the inclusion of child and adolescent psychiatrists,
neuropediatricians, speech doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and special
educators. All the actions that are implemented with autistic patients are aimed at
carrying out and obtaining the appropriate treatment.
