menor a 0,05.
Introduction: Soft fibroids are benign tumors of the dermis that are a frequent reason
for consultation. The purpose of the research was to establish the utility of the body
mass index and blood glucose levels as risk factors in the diagnosis of soft fibroids.
Materials and Methods: A quantitative, correlational, non-experimental, crosssectional
study was taken of the patients who attended the external consultation of the
dermatology department with soft fibroids for 12 months. Anthropometric
measurements were recorded, blood glucose, the number and affected anatomical
regions were counted using a clinical scale. Analysis was performed using SPSS
software. Results: 115 patients with fibroids were studied with an average age of 47
years, 53% female. Anova Test was applied between BMI and subgroup for the number
of fibroids with results less than 0.05. Post hoc analysis was performed using the Tukey
test and harmonic mean between the subgroups with the highest number of lesions and
the subgroup with the least number of lesions with statistically significant difference.
The correlation between the BMI and the number of affected areas presented a bilateral
Rho index obtained del, 366 with a p value highly statistically significant. The
correlation of the glycemia with the number of fibroids showed the bilateral R index
obtained from, 561 with a p value of 0.060, that is, not significant. Conclusions:
Conclusions: The usefulness of independent BMI without interaction with glycemia in
the clinical diagnosis of soft fibroids and the impact of conducting this research was
evidenced
