Its clinical characteristics in different groups of populations require more attention and international research. Objective: To determine the clinical characteristics of epidural and subdural hematoma in patients after traffic accidents. Methodology: Observational study, with a quantitative, descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional approach, which will include patients from the Abel Gilbert Pontón Hospital during the period from January 1 to December 31, 2016. Descriptive statistics and statistical software SPSS version will be used. 21 for statistical processing. Results: Of the total study patients (221), 65% (144) corresponded to subdural hematoma and 35% (77) corresponded to epidural hematoma. The age group of young adults (20-40 years) was the most affected both of epidural and subdural hematoma with 68% and 62% respectively. The mean age of epidural hematoma involvement was 25.7 years (SD + - 4,118) and the subdural hematoma of 23.85 (SD + - 6.29). The temporo-parietal localization (77%) was the most frequent location of the epidural hematoma. The subdural hematoma, in its greater proportion was located in the fronto-temporal region in 61%. The most frequent clinical manifestations of the epidural hematoma were headache (100%), loss of consciousness (100%) and vomiting (100%). The most common manifestations in the subdural hematoma were: loss of consciousness (100%) and headache (100%). The mortality rate due to epidural hematoma was 62% of a total of 77 patients and due to subdural hematoma of 8% of a total of 144 patients. It is concluded that the young adult male is the group most affected by epidural and subdural hematoma.
