Although in Ecuador they do not indicate clear statistics on the use of the dry puncture technique to achieve muscle relaxation; the present work demonstrates on the other hand that if there is a certain index of patients that present situations that may cause muscle contractures and that through the application of the aforementioned technique their quality of life can be improved and the functionality they had lost can be regained. The most frequent cause for patients to present with a muscular contracture is the presence of stress and muscular fatigability in routine in their daily life. Since this situation causes anatomically a dysfunction in the motor plate which in its clinical part causes symptoms of intense pain, limitation of movement and decrease in the participation of the individual. The general objective of the physiotherapist is to perform the necessary, fast, convenient and effective activity to treat the aforementioned pathology. Intervening not only mechanically but going beyond a simple therapy, being able to obtain favorable answers before the practical-manual manipulation. For this reason, the dry puncture technique will be applied, which will work on the myofascial trigger points, achieving improvement, since this is applied to the muscle shortening and the pain threshold caused by the hypersensitivity and hyper-irritability of the nervous system, working together with the complementation of physical agents for their effectiveness. All these activities help the patient to feel the total relaxation of the committed and adjacent muscles, thus allowing them to recover their movement and thus their function causing a development in their daily routine with good mood and improving their quality of life. The methodology that was used was the modality of feasible project that allows the linkage of the researcher, using the explanatory, descriptive type, and the contribution of the researchers, electronic bibliography, documentary, with the support of expert judgment.
