Introducción: El infarto agudo de miocardio es un problema de salud publica, por ser una
patología importante en nuestros tiempos, relacionado a factores de riesgo, y siendo causa de
complicaciones. En el Hospital Universitario de Guayaquil se analizó los factores de riesgo del
infarto agudo de miocardio y sus complicaciones en pacientes entre 40 a 60 años durante el año
2015. El propósito del presente trabajo fue determinar los factores de riesgo relacionados al
infarto agudo de miocardio y sus complicaciones en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital
universitario de guayaquil durante el año 2015. Metodología: El presente estudio fue de enfoque
cuantitativo, observacional, diseño no experimental, corte transversal, retrospectivo, método
analítico. Resultados: Los resultados del presente trabajo indicaron que de los factores de riesgo
predisponentes en mujeres fue la hipertensión arterial el mas importante (94.29%), seguido del
sedentarismo y obesidad, en hombres fue la hipertensión arterial (93.02%), seguido del
sedentarismo y habito de fumar. Las complicaciónes frecuentes en mujeres fueron la
insuficiencia cardiaca (45.71%), seguido de trastornos del ritmo y complicaciones isquémicas, en
hombres fueron las complicaciones isquémicas (41.86%), seguido de insuficiencia cardiaca y
tromboenmbolismo .Discusión y conclusión: Se concluye que el principal factor de riesgo en el
infarto agudo del miocardio es la hipertensión arterial, seguido del sedentarismo, la obesidad y el
habito de fumar, y las principales complicaciones en mujeres fue la insuficiencia cardiaca
seguido de trastornos del ritmo y complicaciones isquémicas, en hombres son las complicaciones
isquémicas, seguida de la insuficiencia cardiaca y tromboembolismo. Introduction: Acute myocardial infarction is a public health problem, because it is an
important pathology in our time, related to risk factors, and causing complications. The
University Hospital of Guayaquil analyzed the risk factors of acute myocardial infarction and its
complications in patients between 40 and 60 years of age during the year 2015. The purpose of
the present study was to determine the risk factors related to acute myocardial infarction and Its
complications in patients attended at the University Hospital of Guayaquil during the year 2015.
Methodology: The present study was of quantitative, observational, non-experimental design,
cross-sectional, retrospective, analytical method. RESULTS: The results of the present study
indicated that of the predisposing risk factors in women, arterial hypertension was the most
important (94.29%), followed by physical inactivity and obesity, in men arterial hypertension
(93.02%) was followed by sedentarism and Smoking habit The most frequent complications in
women were heart failure (45.71%), followed by rhythm disturbances and ischemic
complications, men were ischemic complications (41.86%), followed by heart failure and
thromboembolism. DISCUSSION AND FINDINGS: It was concluded that the main Risk factor
in acute myocardial infarction is hypertension, followed by sedentary lifestyle, obesity and
smoking habit, and the major complications in women were heart failure followed by rhythm
disorders and ischemic complications, in men are complications Ischemic, followed by heart
failure and thromboembolism.
