Introduction: Currently uterine cancer is established as the second most common

To demonstrate the transcendence of Papanicolau in Cervical Cancer as a method
of early diagnosis in patients who will attend the IESS Duran hospital in 2017.
Methods: This research is descriptive, observational, quantitative, retrospective and
cross-section obtained indirectly from the patients who attended the outpatient clinic
during the 2017 period. Results: This study was carried out where the importance
of the constant performance of the cervical cytology examination was demonstrated.
