Autocuidado de pacientes diabéticos del área de endocrinologia del Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo de Guayaquil de marzo a mayo del 2017

El presente trabajo de investigación describe el autocuidado de los pacientes diabéticos que se encuentran hospitalizados en el área de endocrinología del hospital “Teodoro Maldonado Carbo”. Esta investigación es de tipo cuantitativa- descriptiva en base a las necesidades de la investigación, se tomó como muestra a 15 pacientes a los que se les aplico la técnica de la encuesta y como instrumento un cuestionario. Los resultados mostraron que los pacientes que padecen esta patología están en un rango de 51 a 65 años quienes además indicaron que no realizan actividad física por lo tanto esto afecta a su estilo de vida causado por el sedentarismo. La mayoría tiene conocimiento en cuanto al riesgo que implica el abandono del tratamiento, también indicaron que rara vez reciben charlas sobre su autocuidado, es por eso que se recomienda a los pacientes tener mayor compromiso para su autocuidado y a realizar actividad física para reducir el sedentarismo y así mejorar su estilo de vida. Se debe incrementar charlas y programas con el objetivo que los pacientes tengan mayor conocimiento de prevenir complicaciones graves y reducir la morbilidad y mortalidad por esta enfermedad. The present study describes the self-care of diabetic patients who are hospitalized in the area of endocrinology of the hospital "Teodoro Maldonado Carbo". This research is of quantitative-descriptive type based on the needs of the research, 15 patients were sampled and the questionnaire was used as a questionnaire instrument. The results showed that the patients suffering from this pathology are in a range of 51 to 65 years who also indicated that they do not perform physical activity therefore this affects their lifestyle caused by the sedentary lifestyle. Most are aware of the risk involved in abandoning treatment. They also indicated that they rarely receive talks about their
self-care, which is why patients are advised to have a greater commitment to self-care and to perform physical activity to reduce physical inactivity. Thus improving their lifestyle. Chances and programs should be increased with the aim that patients have greater knowledge of preventing serious complications and reduce morbidity and mortality from this disease.
