The periodontium includes the gingival, alveolar bone, cementum and periodontal ligament, which in health status no inflammation, loss or bleeding. It is a state of balance between these elements can be greatly affected by having a previous injury or to restore the collation of a fixed prosthesis as are: cavities, inflammation, poor hygiene, etc.. Which may worsen if uncontrolled? But turn these reactions can be caused by periodontal restorative technique by placing incorrect or fixed Prostheses that do not meet the requirements necessary for balancing the periodontal tissues.
The main cause of injury to the periodontium, apart from poor oral hygiene or poor oral hygiene, the cause the same dentists not taking into account all the aspects to be evaluated in a patient when restoring, the realization of a complete medical history and the careful clinical examination are key to success in our restorations.
These considerations must be taken into account especially in aesthetic areas, such as the anterior region, where when making
a bad restoration, over time, damage can be severe and affect the patient. Maintain correct contact points, the original anatomy of the part that has been restored, maintaining the function of the part and return the aesthetics are not hurting the periodontal tissues and that are key to the success of our treatment, and thus not only the patient be satisfied with our work, and in turn we will be happy with our work.
