Resumen
OBJETIVO: Describir y Aplicar la Intervención Quirúrgica del Tercer Molar
Superior Retenido Submucoso.
(Triviño, Cirugía Oral y maxilofacial, 2009) OBJECTIVE: To describe and to apply the Surgical Intervention of the Third Molar
Retained Submucous Superior. These teeth in a high percentage of patients and
situations do not erupt normally, meaning that they are totally or partially retained
in the maxilla. The main cause of retention of the third molar is due to lack of
space in the dental arches, inside the mouth. METHODS: a descriptive
observational study was carried out, conformed by a clinical case in the Pilot
Faculty of Dentistry "Clinic of Oral Surgery", the patient was identified, anamnesis
was performed, the reason for the consultation was established, the corresponding
odontogram Radiographic images, study models, extraoral and intraoral pictures,
prognosis, treatment plans based on the authors' review. RESULTS: We
performed a mucoperiosteal flap to perform the surgical extraction before the
application of anesthesia of the Palatine Major Nerve. We performed the
dislocation of the piece with a straight thin-blade lift. Once the cavity was removed,
the cavity was sutured with a favorable prognosis for the patient. operator.
CONCLUSIONS: There are different classifications to describe the threedimensional
location of a third molar, but the most useful are undoubtedly those
proposed by Winter since 1926, and that of Pell and Gregory in 1933. These
classifications are based on the orientation of the longitudinal axis Of the third
molar with respect to the second, and in the existing space and the depth to which
the piece is respectively. (Triviño, 2009)
