The international trade has turned into an effective engine for the growth and economic
development of a country therefore its strategies to invigorate it every day increase in the
governmental decisions. The commercial alliances, treated of Free trade, agreements and even
the associations multiply like the best alternatives that have the Governments to increase the
exports of products, diversification of markets and improvement in the programs for the growth
sustentable, equitably and in democracy. What more is of interest to the developing countries
like Ecuador, is to increase it them is to increase the income. As well as to look for spaces to
improve the terms of exchange of the country and the competitiveness levels in the foreign
trade. It is necessary to analyze and to choose the best options to apply a foreign policy that
maintains the beginning of development, equity and technical cooperation. While Ecuador still
debates its strategy, the nearby and rival countries already begin signing trade agreements with
the United States, The European Union, China, Chile, Central America and the others. That
causes that the products of the competitors begin having more advantages since they do not
pay tariffs or have special treatments, the Ecuadoran foreign policy must concentrate on the
development of hardware that allow to improve the competitiveness of the products, register
surplus commercials and improve the social indicators that they help to the equity.
