The present investigation was carried out in the property of Mr. Cristhian Sael
Quinto Rivas, located in the enclosure Las Maravillas, belonging to canton Daule. The
specific objectives were: 1) To evaluate the effect of five doses of Trichoderma spp on the
incidence of diseases; 2) To determine the phenological time of application of
Trichoderma spp; 3) To carry out the partial budget analysis.
A fully randomized design with group and factorial arrangement (A x B + 2) was
used, with 12 treatments and four replications. The treatments were five doses of
Trichoderma (0, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 l / ha) with two application periods (30 and 50 days after
transplantation with Trichoderma to the seedbed and 30 and 50 days after transplantation
without Trichoderma to the seedbed) plus two chemical controls (with Trichoderma and
without Trichoderma in seedbeds.) The following variables were evaluated: Incidence and
severity of diseases and expressed as a percentage, plant height (cm), number of tillers /
m2, number of panicles / m2, weight of one thousand grains (g) and yield (kg / ha).
According to the results, it was concluded that: 1) The treatment of 2.5 l / ha of
Trichoderma showed a lower percentage of stems with Gaeumannomyces graminis var
graminis evaluated at 30, 45 and 60 days with an average of 1.25, 8.75 and 26.25%
respectively; 2) The best application time to reduce the impact of Gaeumannomyces
graminis var graminis was at 30 and 50 days after the transplantation with Trichoderma
application to the nursery and 3) The best economic benefit was obtained with treatment
7 (Without Trichoderma to the seedbed plus 1 l/ ha of Trichoderma applied at 30 and 50
days after transplantation) and the marginal rate to the change of the treatment 7 to the
treatment 9 (2 liters of Trichoderma without applying to the seedbed) is 248%.
