Exóstosis en el maxilar superior

Abstract

La cavidad bucal está formada por distintos tejidos duros y blandos, este último tejido a veces crece deshinibidamente y se producen las excrecencias óseas o exóstosis de los maxilares. El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer cual es la etiología de estos procesos óseos que son muy comunes en nuestra población para poder dar una solución oportuna y eficaz a las personas que sufren esta incomoda afección. Las exóstosis se presentan en las caras vestibulares de los huesos maxilares y hay que saber diferenciar muy bien entre lo que es una exostosis y un torus, es por ello que el éxito de un buen plan de tratamiento radica en los estudios minuciosos que se realiza a cada paciente en particular ya que no todos son iguales y pueden reaccionar de distintas maneras ante cierto procedimiento.
