Enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera en Cusco: análisis y reflexiones

Cusco, considerada como la capital histórica del Perú, es
una ciudad relativamente pequeña con una mezcla de modernidad
y tradición, por lo que tiene una gran afluencia turística. Estas
condiciones fueron propicias para la incorporación de una nueva
actividad en la ciudad: el estudio del idioma español como segunda
lengua. La enseñanza del español empezó a difundirse a partir del
año 2000, con la creación progresiva de escuelas de español en el
Cusco. Actualmente, hay alrededor de treinta escuelas de español
y tres universidades que, además de ofrecer cursos de aprendizaje
de la lengua, brindan también cursos de cultura, historia, arte,
biodiversidad, entre otros. Aprender el idioma y conocer la cultura de
la mano de un profesor nativo hablante representa una gran ventaja
para los estudiantes. Este análisis de la situación de la enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera en la ciudad del Cusco pretende dar
a conocer el perfil del profesor de español, los recursos con los que
trabaja y su percepción acerca de la diversidad y oportunidad que
existe en el Cusco para el mejor desarrollo de esta actividad y, por lo
tanto, de la profesión.
