Resumen
El cerro Colorado está constituido por afloramientos de areniscas y conglomerados de coloraciones rojizas que yacen sobre las rocas graníticas de la sierra Norte de Córdoba. Los aleros y pequeñas grutas presentes en las areniscas, producto de la erosión, fueron frecuentados por los aborígenes que habitaron la zona. Hoy podemos apreciar el testimonio de su arte y cultura a través de las numerosas pictografías que, parcialmente protegidas de la intemperie, han quedado preservadas dentro de las cavidades y que constituyen un invaluable recurso arqueológico.
