Una aproximación a la desigualdad en servicios comerciales a través de sistemas de información geográfica

El enfoque local, en el estudio de la desigualdad geográfica en el
acceso a servicios comerciales, ofrece una visión de interés para caracterizar su
distribución espacial no homogénea, puesto que la distancia resulta esencial
en las decisiones de compra de los individuos. En este trabajo se desarrolla un
método para identificar áreas locales de mercado, que analiza el fenómeno de la
desigualdad sobre la base de un sistema de información geográfica. Utilizando
información de Concón (Chile), se ha construido un conjunto de datos espaciales
que permite una representación gráfica de su distribución en el espacio, con la
finalidad de minorar la incertidumbre en la planificación de áreas de desarrollo
comercial. Las principales aportaciones de este estudio refuerzan la importancia
de intervenir a distintos niveles de actuación, sirviendo como punto de partida
para recomendaciones en políticas públicas; especialmente, en las decisiones de
macro-segmentación en el ámbito de estudio.
