By occupying an area of transition between three distinct relief compartiments (Atlantic Plateau, Sea Montain Range and Coastal Plain) and be geographically influenced by the complex relationship between Ocean and Continent (São Paulo coast), the upper Itanhaém river basin aggregate a complexity that demand scientific studies. In this context, the objective of this article is to demonstrate the influence of the morphometric features of the upper Itanhaém river basin have in their morphodynamics. For this, were analyzed the geomorphological map and relief energy map. The relief energy map aims to quantify the potential's relief has for triggering morphogenetic process. The geomorphological map propitiated the spatialization of relief's forms, allowing the deduction of the processes occurring on this, which are naturals or induced by anthropogenic activities. As a result, were observed the spatial correlation between denudational features and higher classes of relief energy. Thus, the morphometric parameters used to elaborate the relief energy map who identified potentially susceptible sectors to the morphogenetic processes are justified by the denudational features spatialized.
