Resumen
Objective: Considering that organizational memory is elementary for knowledge management, this study aims to propose a model for the implementation of knowledge management that considers the characteristics of organizational memory. Method: this study is based on the methodological basis of bibliographic research and literature review in scientific journals in the area of Information Science regarding the themes of knowledge management, models for implementing knowledge management and organizational memory. Result: proposition of a knowledge management model focused on the characteristics of organizational memory. It is believed that this model presents an important innovative contribution by incorporating the approach of organizational memory to the state of the art on the model for implementing knowledge management in organizations. Conclusions: it is highlighted that the implementation of knowledge management in an organization must take place through a model. In addition, it is considered that the benefits arising from knowledge management will only be enjoyed if this management is directly focused on organizational memory.
