Resumen
Trade liberal ideals have always been part of US foreign policy as well as for those international institutions created with American support. The creation of the IDB represented the broad interest of the United States in directing the continent's socioeconomic development. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the IDB's performance based on US foreign policy guidelines focusing on the dynamics of regional investments for its main South American contributors: Brazil and Argentina.
