Resumen
This paper presents a boost converter based on the three-state switching cell (3SSC), which has been widely used in the design of several topologies of electronic power converters. The structure is part of a family of non-isolated DC-DC converters that has been reported previously in the literature, however, detailed modeling and analysis have not been presented before. The topology consists of type-A cell, one of the five variants of 3SSC. This structure has the advantages associated to the use of 3SSC, such as reduction of the current stress in semiconductors and distribution of losses on them. A qualitative analysis in continuous conduction mode is performed, the control pulses of the main switches being non-overlapping, the operational stages are analyzed and a design procedure is obtained. The modeling of the topology is performed, obtaining the small-signal model of the converter. Experimental results are presented and duly discussed to validate the theoretical assumptions.
