Resumen
Carbonaceous formations - which include flammable shale, bituminous shale, shungite schist, etc. - have been of steadily increasing interest, mainly because many mineral deposits of cornmercial importance are contained within them. Deposits of gold, copper, iron, phosphate, manganese, lead and zinc, uranium, shungite (bitumen), graphite, etc. are closely related to carbonaceous formations in the Precambrian.
