dc.description | This study reports the anthropogenic influences on the uranium concentration in the waters of the Corumbatai river basin (SP), which can affect the U-isotopes modeling used to evaluate the weathering rate of the rocks. The studied waters are generally neutral, with phosphate contents of up to about 3 mg/L. The uranium concentration increases with increasing flow and phosphate content, in accordance with the expected complexation of uranyl ion under the observed pH values. The relationship between dissolved uranium and discharge is opposite of that already referred to in the literature, being certainly affected by the continuous use of fertilizers in sugar cane crops, since they are generally enriched in radionuclides. | en-US |
