The paleoenvironmental significance of a typical oolitic limestone from the Permian Estrada Nova Formation of the Parana Basin, Brazil, was studied. The sedimentary structures, the mineralogy and petrography and the chemical composition (major, minor and trace elements and stable isotopes) were described.
