Resumen
The Cristalina dome is located in sout heastern of the State of Goiás and is made up of rocks of the Canastra, Paraná and Macaúbas Groups. Phyllites of the Canastra Group were thrust from west to east upon rocks of the Macaúbas Group. Thus a sequence of allochtonous phyllites Canastra lies in contact with tillites and varvítes Macaúbas, in obvious tectono-metamorphic contrast, interpreted as an overthrust fault or nappe. The phyllítes of the Canastra Group dísplay folds related to three phases of deformation while metarhythmites of the Paranoá Group display folds to one phase of deformation only, thus defining their relative stratigraphic positions. The tillites and varvites of the Macaúbas Group provide evidence for the existence of an Upper Protetorozoic (950 Ma) glaciation.
