According to modern knowledge about the Argentinian tectonics, the meridional limit of the South America Platform is revised. The extreme southern limit is situated under the Claromecó Basin in the Province of Buenos Aires and the southwestern one leaves the Pampean Foldbelt out of the platform. Face aos modernos conhecimentos sobre a tectônica da Argentina é feita uma revisão do limite meridional da Plataforma Sul-Americana. O limite extremo sul acha-se coberto sob a Bacia de Claromecó no sudeste da Província de Buenos Aires e o sudeste deixa fora da plataforma a faixa de dobramentos Pampeana.
