Resumen
Due to the technological and economic advance, the insertion of the cartography in the society occurs in an accelerated and disseminated way, generating the phenomenon of inclusion of the population in general (non-technical) in the production of cartographic information. As its common in nascent discussion areas, many papers end up approaching the theme in a dispersed but intense way, so that new terms are created or terms used in other tangential areas are used. This work proposes the discussion of these concepts available in the national and international literature related to the field of collaborative cartography, in order to improve the understanding about the subject and to promote discussion about the use of terms such as crowdsourcing and VGI in scientific articles. Through bibliographic research the different terms used in collaborative cartography were explored, analyzed and categorized in order to promote standardization and greater operability and interaction among the initiatives of collaborative cartography.
