Technological advances have done that holders of the royalties do not have any control or supervisión over their artistically or intellectual compositions. Therefore, due to the fact that the management of the rights has become such a difficult activity to perform, series of technological measures have been implemented across the world allowing holders to get control and ownership over their work.For the first time, this summary paper makes visible a historical data document on the global technology evolution to protect the rights of the authors and their compositions, the internet agreements signed off through the OMPI and how Colombia has being implemented and adjusted the control procedures to assume this global challenge under the new politics law and rules to protect our legacy.Los avances tecnológicos han hecho que los titulares de los derechos de autor no tengan el control y manejo sobre sus obras, pues la gestión de sus derechos se ha convertido en una tarea demasiado difícil, y por ello se están implementando una serie de medidas tecnológicas en el mundo que les permita adquirir el control y derecho sobre las mismas.A través del presente documento, se hace una reseña histórica sobre la evolución de la tecnología en el mundo; los derechos de los autores sobres sus obras, los tratados de la Internet de la OMPI y como nuestro país ha abordado ésta nueva normatividad.
