Students carried out by researchers of Cuban Ministry of Education highlight the importance of the contents related with the resolution of arithmetic problems. On the other hand, deficiencies that 7th grade students have in the contents mentioned above have been confirmed by the Evaluation System and Control of quality tests. This work summarizes the author’s main ideas in the paper that allowed him design a system of exercises for the development of the guideline Numerical Mastery, responding to the students´ needs and taking into account the SECE results, the exercises have been graduated according to the levels of performance. It also takes into account the basic of calculation, the combined operations, and their applications. The efficiency in the resolution of arithmetic problems was increased at the secondary school where the experience took place; methods from the theoretical, empiric and mathematical level were used during the process of this research. Estudios realizados por investigadores del Ministerio de Educación de Cuba destacan la importancia de los contenidos relacionados con la resolución de problemas aritméticos. Por otro lado, en los operativos realizados por el Sistema de Evaluación y Control de la Calidad de la Educación (SECE) se han constatado las deficiencias que en los referidos contenidos tienen los estudiantes del 7mo grado de la Secundaria Básica (S.B). En este trabajo se diseñó un sistema de ejercicios para el desarrollo de la línea directriz Dominio Numérico, el mismo da respuesta a las necesidades de los estudiantes y tiene en cuenta los resultados del SECE, los ejercicios se han graduado por niveles de desempeño, se trabajan además a las operaciones básicas de cálculo, operaciones combinadas y sus aplicaciones. Con ello se logró elevar la eficiencia en la resolución de problemas aritméticos en el centro donde se desarrolló la experiencia. Fueron utilizados en el proceso investigativo métodos del nivel teórico, empírico y matemático.
