Resumen
Aiming at a series of requirements that define the use of brick, the soil-cement brick, formulated by
the compaction of the soil, cement and water mixture, was developed. The main objective of this
work is to evaluate the compressive strength of bricks of soil-cement enriched with mineral oils or
vegetable, studying the possibility of creating a product more resistant that consume the least
amount of water possible in its manufacturing, improving water scarcity. After a deepening of
literature, has became required an analysis of the behavior of the physical properties of the chosen
soil became paramount. The soil collected was analyzed according to the norms of the Brazilian
Association of Technical Standards. The compressive strength was obtained in hydraulic press. It
has been proven through the tests of compaction and compression-simple, respectively, than the
increase in the oil content is employed in the mixture induces a decrease in the values of the great
moisture and resistance to compression.
