Itinerários de memórias: um estudo sobre a ética em Viagens de Ahasverus, de Samuel Rawet

Abstract

Este estudo se propõe a analisar a novela Viagens de Ahasverus à terra alheia em busca de um passado que não existe porque é futuro e de um futuro que já passou porque sonhado, de Samuel Rawet. Por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, procura-se investigar qual a concepção de ética presente. O autor, em seus textos ensaísticos, a direciona para a ética judaica. Tendo isso em vista, mais especificamente, procura-se indagar de que forma as memórias contribuem para tal concepção. Para isso, pensa-se a partir de três conceitos de memória: a individual, enquanto consciente e inconsciente; a memória coletiva e a memória cultural; e, por fim, a memória viajante. Dessa forma, chega-se ao constante movimento em que está a personagem, tanto em suas viagens quanto em sua consciência. Portanto, conclui-se que a ética, na narrativa, se dá a partir do movimento sintetizado em três palavras: revolta, responsabilidade e abertura.

Abstract: The present study proposes to investigate the novel Viagens de Ahasverus à terra alheia em busca de um passado que não existe porque é futuro e de um futuro que já passou porque sonhado, by Samuel Rawet. Through bibliographic research, it is sought to investigate the current concept of ethics. The author, in his essays, directs it towards Jewish ethics. Considering this, more specifically, it is sought to ask how memories contribute to this conception. To achieve this, it is addressed from three concepts of memory: the individual, while conscious and unconscious; collective memory and cultural memory; and, finally, travelling memory. Thus, it is reached at the constant movement in which the character is, both in their travels and in their conscience. Therefore, it is concluded that ethics, in that narrative, occurs from the movement synthesized in three words: riot, responsibility and openness.
