Resumen
The civil construction is one of the human activites with the higher material and energy consumption in all its productive chain, representing about 50% of the planet’s natural resources. Consequently, this activity is also a great source of pollution and waste, thus requiring sustainable actions. One of the fields that needs to improve its sustainability measures is the management of the civil construction solid waste. One of the ways to improve the sector is developing tecnologies to minimize the waste generation. Minimizing requires knowing each construction phase, improving the techniques employed and quantifying the waste to show that is possible to reach economy with a good management. The rationalization of the constructive processes, the awareness and the quality labor contribute to decrease material loss and waste generation. In this context, this paper aims to study the class A waste generation originated from the phase of masonry seal cut for the inlay of the electric and hydraulic pipes in a high standard building, located in Londrina – PR. This phase was chosen due to generate large amounts of solid waste and demanding rework. The volume of waste was associeted to the techniques and equipments used and the project’s rationalization level. It was verified that this building generated about 50m3 of solid waste in this determined phase, being that the waste generation on the cut for the eletric installations was considerably superior than the hydraulic installations, due to the higher amount of eletric instalations than hydraulic in the apartments.
