Prefabricated sheds are widely used, due to their flexibility in the architecture, the possibility of using large spans and open spaces. The present work aims to present the design of a pillar of a prefabricated concrete shed, with the purpose of creating specific calculation considerations, such as the estimation of wind forces that generate great efforts, since, for projects of these structures, the bibliography is still limited. After that, a comparison was made between the steel reinforcement rate used in the calculated pillar, with the reinforcement rate of an existing shed pillar. The Brazilian standards ABNT NBR 6118: 2014, ABNT NBR 6123: 1988, and ABNT NBR 8800: 2008 were used to carry out the design, presenting the main considerations for the design in the Ultimate Limit State. The sizing was prepared through surveying the loads acting on the structure and the forces due to the wind action in the southwest region of Paraná, through Visual Ventos software. The steel reinforcement rate was calculated by the method exemplified by the authors Carvalho and Pinheiro (2009) and Bastos (2005). The sizing allowed to evaluate the importance of analyzing the many possible structural arrangements, with varying height of the pillars, distances between gates, dimensions of the concrete and steel pieces, and the connection between the elements. From the differences found, during the comparison of the bending momentum effort and consequently the pillar reinforcement rates, it is believed that the viability of using the existing types of structural analyzes, and that there were variations in the behavior of the structure, according to the materials that constitute it.
