Resumen
The fluid flows of liquids and gases can be divided basically in two modes: 1. Laminar - when fluid movement is highly ordered and streamlines are smooth, i.e. without changes abruptly of the path lines; 2. Turbulent - when fluid has a disordered movement due to the velocity fluctuations. Osborne Reynolds, through his research published in 1883, developed a relationship of some parameters to determine the fluid flows behavior. This relationship, now known as Reynolds Number, relates the inertial forces with the viscous forces of the fluid, and it results in a dimensionless magnitude capable of predicting the fluid flows modes. The present work introduces a design of a didactic equipment to determine the Reynolds number. In addition to the list of materials, it was obtained a quotation for the equipment construction. It is expected that this project will be used for the construction of the didactic equipment and then bringing benefits to learning through practical classes.
