Resumen
The subject of this paper is about "Children's Literature: art that nurtures reading, imagination and creativity," a research focusing the challenges of two projects performed in two local schools of Foz do Iguaçu city. It´s a proposal about the insertion of children's literature, seen as art, and its involvement with the artistic languages of theater and music in the elementary school. A study that presents significant practices strategies in the children's literature area, showing respect and appreciation for the literature art, therefore the records submitted are beyond of the small text, summaries, repetitive quizzes, small staging known by heart, music during the break, on commemorative dates and celebrations. Nowadays the relation between literary art, theater and music in the childhood is lagged, not because students do not like to read, sing and act, they turn on the TV, connect the games in the internet, dramatize, sing and dance all the time, however they are in touch with scenes and songs of the hits parades with themes unsuitable for children. Thus the projects "Making theater with literature" and " Singing stories" songs that tell stories, sing and enchant" take place with good quality proposals, because the importance of children's literature role and the artistic languages of theater and music in the children’s education need to be faced and worked with respect, they are expressions of art, that allow the reflection, socialization and transformation, rescuing the culture, expressing creativity, combining the cognitive aspect to the emotional, telling stories, singing the emotions and enchanting audiences.
