dc.description.abstractAccording to data from the Ministry of Labor, it is in the civil construction sector where the greatest number of accidents occur in Brazil, and among the various areas of civil construction, the foundations stage has a relevant share in the total number of accidents in construction sites. Among the environmental risks present in the foundations stage, noise, classified as physical risk, can cause irreversible hearing loss, among other damages harmful to workers' health. In this article, noise levels were analyzed during a pile driving carried out in the city of Ponta Grossa/PR. Through a decibelimeter, the maximum noise values were recorded during the activities, and the duration times were timed. The Dose, Exposure Level, and Normative Exposure Level were calculated, which were compared to the exposure limits included in NR 15 of the Ministry of Labor and NHO-01 of Fundacentro. As a result, it was found that the sound pressure level is above the exposure limit established by both regulaory standards, and immediate corrective action is required. It was found during the execution of the services that the operators used adequate personal protective equipment, and therefore there should be control measures of the company so that the correct use of these equipment can continue, as well as its proper maintenance and replacement when appropriate.
