Resumen
The objective of this work is to explain what the BIM (Building Information Modeling) platform and its possible applications in the field of civil construction, and show its benefits in the management of works. With BIM it is possible to think about the entire life cycle of a building. One of the largest waste generators is in charge of construction. Because it has great representation in the economy of the parents, it generates a problem that possibly will reflect in the economy of the same one, drastically and also by using a technology less efficient that other sectors of the economy. The work carried out in the works to manage this service is not yet adequate for the moment. And to assist in this sector that comes the BIM process to facilitate the resolution of problems generated in the constructions. In this work the possibilities offered by BIM for waste management in civil construction were studied. It allows to find better constructive solutions, better performance of buildings, besides providing increase in productivity and qualities of architecture and complementary projects. As the construction sector is one of the largest generators of environmental waste, much of the waste does not fit into the 3 Rs principle (reduce, reuse and recycle) and Sustainability, yet civil construction is highly representative of the economy of the country. country, but it is still one of the few sectors that use technologies to make the process more efficient. The developer can have a more continuous flow of work, with productivity and quality, the builder can have more certainty of the planning costs, as well as engineers and architects, to have more information of the work and of all its steps searching for new and better solutions of project.
