Resumen
Nitric Oxide (NO) is a free radical produced by the human body is very important for various physiological processes, such as vasodilation, angiogenese and neuro-transmission. The development of exogenous sources of that molecule becomes relevant in the case of persons does not produce in sufficient. In this sense, this work presents the production of poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) incorporated with S-nitrosocysteíne (CiSNO), which is a compound in the donor found naturally in the human body. The films were physically crosslinked by the method of freezing/thawing (C/D), thermally analyzed by DSC, and showed swelling coefficient greater than 100% in water. The NO release from the films as a function of time was confirmed by Griess reaction and UV-Vis spectrophotometry. There was no inhibitory action against S.aereus NO released by CiSNO. Because they are produced with a polymeric biocompatible and have the ability to store and release of in, the films can be studied in the future as exogenous sources of this molecule in possible medical treatments.
