Abstract

The social importance of cooperatives as a way to generate jobs and income is the focus of this study and had the bibliographical study methodology and documentary. The goal is to demonstrate the social importance of cooperatives as a way to generate employment and income. With this study demonstrated that this company segment has contributed in generating employment and income, and alternative employment to many unemployed. The search result is based on the selection of five cases of work cooperatives Cooperation Stories - 366 Brazilian Cooperatives building a better world, and large cooperatives, small and social inclusion that are contributing to the integration of the unemployed on the market work.
