In this work the main objective is the synthesis metalic of copper (Cu) and iron (Fe) and bimetal Copper-Iron (CuFe) catalysts supported in niobium (Nb2O5), provided by Brazlian Company of Metallurgy and Mining, for the reduction reaction selective NO by CO, which are two pollutants gases from the atmosphere. The catalysts were synthesized by wet impregnation method and calcined at two temperatures, 400 ° C or 550 ° C, characterized by DRX, MEV, FTIR, TPR, BET and evaluated their catalytic activities for NO reaction by CO. The results of the characterizations showed that the supported catalysts calcined at 400 ° C have an amorphous structure, while at 550 °C it obtained a crystalline structure and the copper and iron are highly dispersed at the surface. It also showed that the specific area of the niobium decreases with increasing calcination temperature. The evaluation of the catalytic activity for NO reduction reaction by CO showed that the copper-iron catalyst calcined at 550 ° C showed the best conversion of NO (46%) and CO (42%), and reached 100% selectivity of N2 relative to N2O at 410 ° C.
