The Brazilian civil construction sector is being gradually modernized with the implementation of BIM in the public and private spheres as an initiative to optimize design processes and, consequently, reduce costs and conduct good practices. This work aims at the importance of integrating software with BIM technology with a focus on structural design, evaluating qualitatively and quantitatively the isolated method (without integration) and the collective method (with integration). The latter is evaluated through an interoperability study between the software using IFC technology (present in all BIM software) and the TQS plugin in partnership with REVIT. The objects of study are the software REVIT, TQS and CYPECAD. The methodological approach relies on the development of a manual predimensioning in the structural specialty. The results of the qualitative analysis (level of effectivenes) on the use of interoperability were promising for the technology (plugin) developed by the company TQS in partnership with REVIT, instead of the IFC technology.
